I didn’t really think of doing a resolutions post but as I’m waiting for my flight and already starting to miss my family once again, I thought why not?
2015 had mixed reviews for me. It started on a high with getting married and receiving Sammy and continued with several academic accomplishments. But at what price?
This isn’t my first degree. I already have one in Biology but that was different, I was younger, my body was younger. Now I’m 30 and still have 2.5 years of school to go and the toll stress takes on my body is immeasurably greater. I found this out in September when I pushed myself to the absolute limit with exams and even when I couldn’t go through even one more an opportunity opened up for an extra exam, and even though David told me not to do it and I was totally broken I did it anyway and finished my year accademically on par but my health suffered. I was totally out of balance.
So my resolution for 2016 is to take better care of myself – less stress, do only what I can and if I don’t pass an exam that’s OKAY, keep eating healthier and make more of an effort to keep in touch with the important people in my life.
